Warm-up for Maytime Fair

Students at Xavier College Kostka Hall had a warm-up for the annual Maytime Fair recently, with Year Eight students hosting a special Mini-Fair for younger students at the school.

The annual Kostka Hall Mini-Fair took place on Wednesday 24 March, involving a range of activities including balloon shaving, basketball and soccer shootouts, a Guitar Hero competition, an obstacle course, cricket and Wii sword fighting competition.

‘The Year Eight students did the lion's share of the preparatory work and on the day they were organised, responsible and accommodating', said Kostka Hall Year 7 & 8 Coordinator, Jerry Mulcahy.

‘It was a pleasure to see all of our Year Eight students taking responsibility for their own activities and the level of cooperation displayed was exemplary.'

A special guest visitor on the day was Father Bob Billings SJ, a Jesuit from Hazaribag in India. It is an area which has long been supported by Jesuit Mission in Australia.

‘Fr Bob was delighted with the endeavors of all of our students and he also expressed his gratitude to our students for their efforts', said Mulcahy.

The Jesuit Mission Maytime Fair will be held at Xavier College, Kew, on Saturday 1 May.

Anyone is welcome to come along and help support Jesuit Mission's work in countries like India, Cambodia, China, East Timor, India, Myanmar and Thailand. There will be many fun activities on offer, as well as a range of stalls, raffles, food and wine, and other amusements.
